SOLVE IT, PLAN IT, BUILD IT: AN INTRODUCTION TO ENGINEERING
PRESENTED BY: GEORGIA TECH LAMBDA SIGMA HONOR SOCIETY
SATURDAY, 11/7, 3:00-5:00 PM

Have you ever wondered whose job it is to make sure that bridges stay up, or to determine the right material to use for a space shuttle so that it doesn’t burn up when it enters Earth’s atmosphere, or to design the robots that build cars? All three jobs fall under the same category: engineering! In this workshop, we’ll learn about different kinds of engineering and develop skills in civil, materials science, and electrical engineering through hands-on, small group activities. And we’ll even end with a quiz that will help you figure what kind of engineer you should be!

Registration preference will be given to students in grades 5 to 10. Once you sign up, you’ll receive a notification letting you know whether you’ve been registered or placed on the wait list within about 48 hours.

CANCELLATION POLICY
Our programs are always 100% free – but be advised that canceling your student’s registration within a week of the workshop incurs a $5 cancellation fee. Canceling within 24 hours of the workshop incurs a $10 cancellation fee. Not showing up without notifying us of cancellation in advance incurs a $20 cancellation fee. Because we never want money to be a barrier for students who wish to take advantage of our programs, we’ll cover the first $20 of cancellation fees you incur each calendar year. Cancellation fees prevent you from being able to sign up for workshops until they are paid.

VOLUNTEER
If you’re interested in sharing your knowledge and interests with young people – fill out a volunteer application to let us know! We’re always looking for new workshop facilitators with exciting ideas!
