Mind Bubble is excited to announce its upcoming workshop: “The Secrets of the Human Brain!” This neuroscience workshop is intended for students in grades 6-9 and, as always, is 100% free. The sign-up form can be found beneath the workshop description below. The workshop will be held at Edwin Jarvis in Avondale Estates (88 N. Avondale Road).
The Secrets of the Human Brain
Taught By: Jim Kwon
Saturday, 9/29, 4:30-6:30 PM
“The Secrets of the Human Brain” will introduce the students to the world of neuroscience. We will learn different parts of the brain, and how each part is involved in a specific functionality. Afterwards, there will be a demonstration of actual brain samples where participating students can see and hold actual brains to consolidate the information they learned from the lecture in a hands-on manner.
Registration preference will be given to students in grades 6-9. Once you sign up, you’ll receive a notification letting you know whether you’ve been registered or placed on the wait list within about 48 hours.
Our programs are always 100% free – but be advised that canceling your student’s registration within a week of the workshop incurs a $5 cancellation fee. Canceling within 24 hours of the workshop incurs a $10 cancellation fee. Not showing up without notifying us of cancellation in advance incurs a $20 cancellation fee. Because we never want money to be a barrier for students who wish to take advantage of our programs, we’ll cover the first $20 of cancellation fees you incur each calendar year. Cancellation fees prevent you from being able to sign up for workshops until they are paid.
If you’re interested in sharing your knowledge and interests with young people – fill out a volunteer application to let us know! We’re always looking for new workshop facilitators with exciting ideas!
