Mind Bubble is excited to announce its upcoming workshop: “Creative Writing Through Card Games: Once Upon A Time” This workshop is intended for students in grades 4 to 10 and, as always, is 100% free. The sign-up form can be found beneath the workshop description below. The workshop will be held at The Decatur Library (215 Sycamore St, Decatur, GA).
CREATIVE WRITING THROUGH CARD GAMES: ONCE UPON A TIME
PRESENTED BY: Dan Peterson, Co-founder of Mind Bubble
SATURDAY, 12/3, 3:00-5:00 PM
Good fiction writers need a lot of practice to become great fiction writers, but sometimes it can be hard for a writer to find the inspiration they need for their next great story. At our next workshop, Mind Bubble’s Executive Director Dan Peterson will use the card game “Once Upon A Time” to help students find the inspiration for their next great story while also covering the fundamentals of fiction writing. Students will learn how to play “Once Upon A Time”, discuss the mechanics of writing fiction, and have the opportunity to practice their own creative writing in small groups. Sign up today, and you’ll be happy ever after that you did!
Registration preference will be given to students in grades 4 to 10. Once you sign up, you’ll receive a notification letting you know whether you’ve been registered or placed on the wait list within about 48 hours.
Our programs are always 100% free – but be advised that canceling your student’s registration within a week of the workshop incurs a $5 cancellation fee. Canceling within 24 hours of the workshop incurs a $10 cancellation fee. Not showing up without notifying us of cancellation in advance incurs a $20 cancellation fee. Because we never want money to be a barrier for students who wish to take advantage of our programs, we’ll cover the first $20 of cancellation fees you incur each calendar year. Cancellation fees prevent you from being able to sign up for workshops until they are paid.
If you’re interested in sharing your knowledge and interests with young people – fill out a volunteer application to let us know! We’re always looking for new workshop facilitators with exciting ideas!
