Mind Bubble is excited to announce its upcoming workshop: “Growing Community!” This community garden workshop is intended for students in grades 6 to 10 and, as always, is 100% free. The sign-up form can be found beneath the workshop description below. The workshop will be held at Jolly Avenue Garden in Clarkston.
How do gardens serve the community, and how do you start one? This April, celebrate the spring with Mind Bubble as we answer these questions and more at the Jolly Avenue Garden in Clarkston for our first in-person, socially-distanced workshop of 2021! Our facilitators from the garden will give us a tour of the garden, help us think through planning our own gardens, and teach us how to make a delicious snack with food grown in the garden! Whether you have a green thumb or have killed every plant you’ve ever owned, this workshop will have something for you!
Registration preference will be given to students in grades 6 to 10. Once you sign up, you’ll receive a notification letting you know whether you’ve been registered or placed on the wait list within about 48 hours.
Our programs are always 100% free – but be advised that canceling your student’s registration within a week of the workshop incurs a $5 cancellation fee. Canceling within 24 hours of the workshop incurs a $10 cancellation fee. Not showing up without notifying us of cancellation in advance incurs a $20 cancellation fee. Because we never want money to be a barrier for students who wish to take advantage of our programs, we’ll cover the first $20 of cancellation fees you incur each calendar year. Cancellation fees prevent you from being able to sign up for workshops until they are paid.
If you’re interested in sharing your knowledge and interests with young people – fill out a volunteer application to let us know! We’re always looking for new workshop facilitators with exciting ideas!
