Mind Bubble is excited to announce its upcoming workshop: “Making Machines Work for You!” This artificial intelligence workshop is intended for students in grades 6-9 and, as always, is 100% free. The sign-up form can be found beneath the workshop description below. The workshop will be held at Edwin Jarvis (88 N. Avondale Rd in Avondale Estates).

Making Robots Work for You!

Presented By: Bryson Bonham

Saturday, 7/20, 4:30-6:30 PM

Have you ever wanted a computer to do your work for you? With recent advances in AI, we can make this dream a reality and build machines that can learn how to do all sorts of tasks! In this workshop we will dive into the world of reinforcement learning and learn how to build a model that can win at old school Atari video games. This introduction will cover some statistics basics and open the door to creative thinking in the world of AI. We will cover the three areas of machine learning, build a model together, and then watch it in action!

Registration preference will be given to students in grades 6-9. Once you sign up, you’ll receive a notification letting you know whether you’ve been registered or placed on the wait list within about 48 hours.

Our programs are always 100% free – but be advised that canceling your student’s registration within a week of the workshop incurs a $5 cancellation fee. Canceling within 24 hours of the workshop incurs a $10 cancellation fee. Not showing up without notifying us of cancellation in advance incurs a $20 cancellation fee. Because we never want money to be a barrier for students who wish to take advantage of our programs, we’ll cover the first $20 of cancellation fees you incur each calendar year. Cancellation fees prevent you from being able to sign up for workshops until they are paid.

If you’re interested in sharing your knowledge and interests with young people – fill out a volunteer application to let us know! We’re always looking for new workshop facilitators with exciting ideas!
