COVID-19 Response

Dear members of the Mind Bubble community,

As schools around the area continue to close in response to the COVID-19 outbreak, Mind Bubble has decided to suspend all in-person programming until further notice. We have not made this decision lightly, and it is with the health and well-being of all community members in mind that we’ve taken this step.

That said, we are currently exploring ways to implement Mind Bubble’s programming remotely. In the coming days, we will introduce a new procedure that will allow us to provide tutoring to students in grades 5-10 via Zoom during our usual tutoring time slots of 6:15-8:15 PM on Wednesdays and 2-4 PM on Sundays. We’re excited that we’ll still be able to provide assistance to our students in this difficult time and give our students and tutors a chance to meet and interact.

Though our programming suspension means that we have to cancel our “Mission to Mars” March workshop, we are investigating remote workshop options for April and will have more details soon. We are also looking into gaming resources to share with our community to help students build their strategic and critical thinking skills during a time when many may feel stuck at home.

Despite the struggles this virus presents, I am continually heartened by the hard work and dedication of our community members, and, together, I believe we can weather the coronavirus storm. So please join us as we adapt to these changes in the coming weeks, and we hope to see many of you online soon! Stay healthy, and be well!

Best,
Dan Peterson
